5/5: the best tacos i've ever eaten. granted i've only had torchys and velvet but still delicious!
$$$$
👍 - get again ; 👎 - would not get again
Taqueria 10 de 10 is a taco shop tucked away inside a small speakeasy in downtown offering Tijuana-style tacos, burritos, and quesadillas.
Menu Items I've Tried:
ADOBADA (PASTOR) TACO ($4) 👍
on flour tortilla
The flour tortilla is nice and sturdy. I loved the pork. It was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. It came right off the trompo and is thinly sliced. It was almost cheesy like. The toppings were cilantro, salsa, and a green crema that added a refreshing acidity, crunch, and delicious balance to the greasy meat. I liked this one best out of the two I tried.
CARNE ASADA QUESADILLA ($6) 👍
on flour tortilla
This was very hearty and indulgent! There was a thick layer of melted cheese on the tortilla that crisps up. It's stuffed with tender, well seasoned steak that is charred and smoky. It is very juicy though, so kind of hard to eat. I wish it was less wet because it made the tortilla soggy.
CHIPS + SALSA ($3.99) 👎
the salsa is self serve on the side
The chips are your typical chips. Sturdy and a good thickness for scooping up the salsa. There are three types of sauces.
Jalapeno Cremosa: This was my favorite. It was creamy, mild, and slightly sweet. Not too flavorful though.
Chile De Arbol: This was quite spicy. The spice hits you in the back at the end. It is just salty
Red Salsa: This one is not as spicy and is more like a classic salsa.
I preferred eating the tacos without any sauce. It was already very flavorful as is. I think it's pretty pricey for tacos though.
