3/5: this means that it is just okay. It is nothing exceptional and I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. I wouldn't mind going if someone suggested it, but I would not be the one to suggest it first. *caveat: sometimes though i would be in the T22 mood because they could release a banger monthly special.

Tumble 22 is a Texas chicken joint inspired by Nashville hot chicken. It has locations all over Texas and is a staple in the Austin food scene. They have bone-in chicken, fries, deviled eggs, and chicken sandwiches. They also have a monthly special chicken sandwich that is unique and always fun! So far, I would say they have pretty good chicken. I would come back, but I would try other items like their sandwiches.
Menu Items I've Tried:
1/4 WHITE BONE-IN CHICKEN ($11.49) 👎
Mo's hot spice level with a side of fries and broccoli salad
The chicken was crisped to perfection! The breading was not too heavy or greasy. It was thin but had a nice crunch while still maintaining the juiciness of the chicken. However, the flavor was lacking. I got the Mo' hot level spice and it was not spicy at all. I would recommend getting a hotter level. The seasoning was a bit peppery, but other than that there was no flavor. I'd say the flavor is just that peppery spice.
Fries: good, not too greasy, light, not dense, and had a nice hollow bite.
Broccoli salad: good, essentially coleslaw but with broccolli and cheese. It's sweet and creamy.
2 PIECE BONELESS THIGHS ($8.99) 👍
Cluckin' Hot with a side of broccoli salad
Good chicken as always, crispy outside and juicy inside. Now, the cluckin' hot is their second spiciest and this wasn't too spicy either. The more you eat it though, the more the spice starts to kick in. I enjoyed it. The spice is like a throaty spice rub powder kick. Again I liked the broccoli salad for being sweet, light, and refreshing. Cuts through the grease and spice.
Mac and Cheese 👍
Their Mac is a side option. I am normally not a mac person, but this was pretty good. Good pasta shape, it was big and swirly and scooped up the cheese well. It was chewy, al dente, and bouncy. The flavor is light.
I need to try it again to get the seasoning notes-i'll update
Korean BBQ O.G. 👍
Korean style thigh with gochujang sauce, pickles, kimchi slaw, duke's mayo
To preface, I simply tried 1 bite of my friend's sandwich, so I will have to go again to get a proper review. So far, from what I recall, the sandwich had a big juicy piece of chicken that was nicely battered making it crispy. It was doused in a sticky sweet gochujang based sauce so it had that korean peppery kick (not spicy). The kimchi slaw + pickles added a nice acidity and fresh sweetness while the mayo supplied the creaminess. Everything worked well together making for a soft pillowy bite that transforms into a creamy, flavorpacked, juicy finish.
I need to try it again to get better flavor notes-i'll update
